We’re Hiring: Junior Publicist

Brand Ambassadors is actively seeking a Junior Publicist for its clients in Johannesburg. This position entails client relations, developing and overseeing an integrated press & marketing strategy, securing ongoing media placements in both regional and national outlets, writing releases, crafting pitches, establishing and maintaining high-level relationships with press and media, on and offline as well as with key contacts within Brand Ambassadors client verticals. It will also involve influencer marketing and special events.

Who we are looking for:

A self-starter who is an excellent communicator (written and oral) and has at least a year of PR experience.
Strong, proven relationships with regional and national media in fashion and lifestyle.
Prior experience managing the development and implementation of brand marketing campaigns.
Someone who is well versed in South Africa’s social landscape and has knowledge of key industry players & influencers.
Launch/PR experience with lifestyle brands is a plus.

Responsibilities Include:

Setting forth high level PR & marketing strategies
Securing impactful fashion & lifestyle editorial coverage (print, broadcast and online)
Lead client liaison focusing on retention, maintenance and growth.
Regularly entertain media contacts deemed imperative to generating coverage and ongoing interest.
Facilitating sample loaning and product gifting.
Maintaining campaign timelines and ensure press, marketing and digital teams are on task.
Proactively communicating knowledge of relevant fashion & lifestyle marketing campaigns and activations.
Working effectively with clients to build innovative content surrounding campaigns.
Writing press releases and all messaging needs on behalf of clients.Developing and distributing monthly status reports and weekly minutes. Provide periodic updates/audits, as required, to ensure successful project delivery.
